Krista A. Jahnke

Communications Manager

External Affairs and Communications

Krista A. Jahnke is a communications manager at The Kresge Foundation.

She leads the External Affairs and Communications department’s digital team and provides strategic communications support to the Social Investment Practice. She joined Kresge in 2015. Previously, she served as senior communications officer at the Detroit-based Skillman Foundation, where she led external communications efforts, including Web development, email marketing, media relations, social media and publications.

Before working in philanthropy, Jahnke was a journalist and digital editor at Detroit Free Press, where she worked for nine years in various roles, including Detroit Pistons beat writer.

Jahnke earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University and a credential in Social Impact Storytelling from Georgetown University. Jahnke serves on the board of directors for The Communications Network and helps lead ComNetwork Detroit, a community of nonprofit and foundation communication professionals across the Detroit region. She’s a published short story writer and a graduate of Leadership Detroit.
