Privacy Policy

By visiting our website, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use this website.

The Kresge Foundation (the “Foundation”) has created this privacy policy in order to demonstrate its firm commitment to the privacy of all individuals who access our websites and with whom we do business.

The privacy policy describes the Foundation’s information-gathering and dissemination practices of information voluntarily submitted to us by our members and other visitors to this website (The “Site”) (kresge.org). This privacy policy also applies to information we may gather from your offline submissions. The Foundation is the sole owner of all information collected for use by the Foundation and all its programs, initiatives and affiliates.

The privacy policy does not apply to any third-party website individuals may visit through links on the Foundation’s website and the Foundation does not assume responsibility for any data-sharing which individuals may engage in on third-party websites.

What Information We Collect

The Foundation’s Site is developed in such a way that allows you to visit without being required to provide your name, email, address or similar personal information. However, certain features of the Site may include features or services that permit you to voluntarily enter contact information and other information about you, such as your name, address and email address. That general information may be collected from you when you register with the Foundation. The information we collect is clearly set out on the webpage on which we collect it. See for example our e-newsletter registration.

When you interact with the Site, certain information about your use of the Site is automatically collected. This information could include your domain name and host for internet access; the internet address of the site from which you came; the date and time of your access; your computer’s IP address and information about its operating system, browser and host; the date and time you access the Site and the pages you visit.

Much of this information is collected through cookies, web beacons and other tracking technologies, as well as through your web browser or device (e.g., IP address, MAC address, browser version, etc.). The tracking technologies employed when you use our Site may be first-party or third-party.

How We Use Cookies

A cookie is a small file that a website or web application stores on your computer. Cookies are used for analyzing web traffic, personalizing websites and web applications, remembering user information, and various other purposes.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyze data about webpage traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better Site by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. If you do not want to receive cookies, you may set your browser to reject them. However, if you turn cookies off, you may not have access to some of the Site’s services and features, and it may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website. We also may allow third parties to issue cookies, pixels, web beacons and other tracking technologies on our Site to help us compile aggregated statistics regarding the operations of our Site.
