Staff updates: Baumeister joins Grants Management team; Holliman and Williams promoted

The Kresge Foundation announced today promotions and additions to its Grants Management department and Program team: Mary Beth Baumeister joined the foundation this month as Grants Manager, Joyce Holliman was promoted to Senior Grants Management Associate, and Michael Williams was promoted to Program Officer with the Detroit Program.

In her role as Grants Manager, Baumeister oversees compliance for grants and program-related investments at the foundation. She brings to Kresge years of experience, having previously served as Grants Manager for the Skillman Foundation in Detroit, Michigan. Baumeister also held positions at the United Way for Southeastern Michigan, Detroit Land Bank Authority, Midtown Detroit and the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

“Mary Beth brings to the foundation a wealth of grants management experience at a time when our grantmaking and its administration is so important as our grantee and investee partners look to us for support during these challenging times,” said Director of Grants Management Genise Singleton.

Further supporting its Grants Management department, Kresge promoted Joyce Holliman to Senior Grants Management Associate – a position reflecting Holliman’s wide array of responsibilities across the foundation and work with grantees.

“Joyce’s work touches almost every corner of the foundation, from our Executive Office to Finance department to Talent and Human Resources,” said Singleton. “Joyce also provides first-rate service and support to our grantees, always placing our partners’ needs first.”

Among grantmakers, Michael Williams was promoted to Program Officer with Kresge’s Detroit Program.

“In the two years with our program, Michael has shown unparalleled commitment to centering people and equitable development across neighborhoods in Detroit,” said Detroit Program Managing Director Wendy Lewis Jackson. “Moreover, as our point person for Detroit Arts Support, AXD, Kresge Arts in Detroit and related initiatives, he has demonstrated a keen understanding of how arts and culture enrich communities culturally, spiritually, materially and economically. With his mindset and skillset, Michael will be integral to our evolving work to promote a just Detroit.”
