Genise T. Singleton

Director of Grants Management

Grants Management

In her role as director of Grants Management, Genise T. Singleton oversees the day-to-day operations of the department that aligns internal processes, ensures compliance, manages data systems and provides principled grantmaking and social investments support within the foundation.

The department supports the execution of more than 400 grants and social investments per year totaling nearly $200 million annually.

Genise has a deep interest in how data can be used to advance the work of the nonprofit sector and is a member of several philanthropic affinity groups that seek to advance the art and science of the grantmaking profession.

A Detroit native, she earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Marygrove College and served on its alumni board, as well as on the boards of several other nonprofits.

She devotes her free time to creative writing and volunteering for several local charities.
