Catalyst Miami hosted its first virtual Poverty Solutions Summit, bringing together community, civic and business leaders to develop community-driven solutions for South Florida’s most critical challenges. The Summit provided attendees an opportunity to learn about innovative strategies for community and economic development, and a platform to discuss how to adapt these strategies in communities. Environment Senior Program Officer Shamar Bibbins joined The Miami Foundation President and CEO Rebecca Fishman Lipsey and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Vice President of Corporate Responsibility Shekeria Brown for a panel discussion titled “Reframing Philanthropy – Investing in Black Futures.” Bibbins shared her expertise on philanthropic work that centers and advances racial equity as panelists discussed how philanthropy is changing in terms of funding more Black-focused and Black-led causes.
