As a national leader in climate change adaptation, American Rivers seeks to build resilience in human and natural communities by prescribing climate-smart practices and policies that can be implemented to promote healthy rivers. This two-year grant enables the nonprofit to continue its demonstration projects and national legislative and regulatory advocacy work.

To ensure a more sustainable future for the American West, Carpe Diem West engages water leaders collaboratively to develop innovative solutions for dealing with water scarcity in a changing climate. This two-year grant renews our support for Carpe Diem West, an initiative to rethink how water is stored and delivered so that ecosystems are protected, agricultural economies are sustained, and all residents have access to clean water.
The Pacific Northwest’s leading green-building organization operates the Living Building Challenge, the world’s most rigorous green-building performance standard. Grant money helps Cascadia implement and raise the profile of its certification system through education, training, and work with regulatory officials and policymakers.
