Be A Leader Foundation (BALF)

Soilo Felix assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer at the Be A Leader Foundation (BALF) in Phoenix, AZ in April 2022. With over 25 years of experience in nonprofit management and leadership, as well as youth development, Soilo brings a wealth of expertise to his position. As a first-generation college graduate, he is deeply committed to advocating for first-generation college students and promoting equitable access to education. Soilo has dedicated his life to creating supportive environments where students can not only thrive but also achieve their goal of attaining postsecodnary success.

Prior to joining Be A Leader, Soilo served as the Director of Community Engagement Programs at the Arizona Science Center. Prior to that, Soilo dedicated twelve years to a local youth and teen development organization, where he spearheaded the development of a comprehensive educational and technology program strategy. His tenure at the Boys & Girls Clubs saw him fostering strategic relationships in areas such as distance learning and Tele-Presence technologies. He was actively involved in Boys & Girls Clubs of America initiatives such as – Latino Leadership Project and is a distinguished member of the Academy of Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals.

Soilo earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Arizona State University, where he joined Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Inc. He has been a member of the fraternity’s National Board of Directors since 2003, serving as Vice-Chairman before becoming Chairman from 2005 to 2024.

He continues to serve as Chairman Emeritus and was a founding trustee of The Omega Delta Phi Legacy Foundation, established in 2009 as a 501(c)(3) to support the fraternity’s philanthropic programs. Soilo is also a proud alumni of various community leadership programs including Valle Del Sol’s Hispanic Leadership Institute (2015), Valley Leadership Advance, and Class 39 of Valley
Leadership Institute. Soilo and his wife, Amy, along with their daughter Zoë, reside in midtown Phoenix.
