The Social Impact of MDI Mortgage Lending, a new Kresge-supported paper from the National Bankers Association, BankBlack and the Hip Hop Caucus, explores lending by minority depository institutions (MDIs) from 2019 to 2022, highlighting the social impact of MDI mortgage lending, particularly as compared to lending from other types of financial institutions. In addition, the paper also features insights gleaned from interviews from key personnel at seven MDIs. Kresge has also published a commentary by Associate Detroit Program Officer Christopher LeFlore, who is one of three coauthors.
