Jan M. Delatorre

Jan M. Delatorre (he/him) is a program officer at The Kresge Foundation. Jan supports the Health Program and the Climate Change, Health and Equity initiative at Kresge. He joined the foundation in 2026.  

Previously, Jan served as a program officer at the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, where he was involved with expanding access to healthy food and wellness opportunities for children, their families, and their communities.  

He has also held positions with the Michigan Public Health Institute as an affiliate to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in the areas of nutrition, chronic disease, and HIV prevention.  

Having moved to Michigan from the Philippines in his teens, he earned both a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and master’s in public health from Michigan State University. Jan also earned a master’s in European politics from Lunds Universitet in Sweden where he studied the role of advocacy networks in protecting the rights of political minorities.  

Jan currently serves on the board of Communities in Schools Michigan. He is passionate about promoting, protecting and cultivating equitable and sustainable food systems for all.
