Anand Sharma

Anand Sharma is a program officer at The Kresge Foundation. He supports the American Cities program by promoting effective and inclusive community development practices across the nation. He joined the foundation in 2023.  

Previously, he served as a senior associate at the Center for the Study of Social Policy, where he partnered with leaders to help design, implement and learn from community change and place-based initiatives across the United States.

A native of metro Detroit, he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. He also holds an executive certificate in social impact strategy from the University of Pennsylvania Center for Social Impact Strategy.
