Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email Nonprofit capital provider IFF, a key partner in the Kresge Early Years for Success (KEYS): Detroit initiative, released an animated video today that illustrates Detroit’s shortage of 28,000 high-quality early childhood care slots. The video, supported by funding from Kresge, highlights data from the The System We Need: A Neighborhood Snapshot of Early Childhood Care in Detroit. This report examines the number of early childhood care slots available compared to the number of children in the city who need them and found that most children do not have access to a spot for care. The report also identified the 10 highest-need neighborhoods in the city, although the need for more care stretches into every district and corner of the city. Watch this to learn more about Detroit’s early childhood care gap and what we can do to address this persistent challenge. . Detroit Child Care from IFF CDFI on Vimeo.
