Primary Protection: Enhancing Health Care Resilience for a Changing Climate

Environment, Health

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services includes case studies from hospitals, nursing homes and other residential health facilities that have experienced or sustained damage from extreme weather events, and gathers together their collective responses into a set of emerging best practices.

It is coauthored by John Balbus of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and Robin Guenther, architect and author, principal at Perkins+Will, and senior adviser to Health Care Without Harm, a Kresge partner.
