Kresge begins 2026 with staff promotions, additions

The Kresge Foundation is announcing several staff promotions and additions as the new year begins to take shape.

“The extraordinary dedication of our staff, in addition to their talent and tenacity, have positioned Kresge to meet this moment with clarity and purpose,” said President and CEO Rip Rapson. “I am struck by the strength of our team. As we continue through 2026, our work will demand everything we have — creativity, collaboration and an unwavering focus on equity — and I have no doubt we are ready.”

In the Programs department, Senior Program Officer Stephanie Davison, previously of the Human Services Program, will now provide support across all the Program teams. Also in the department, Kathy Hoffman has been promoted to executive assistant to the vice president of programs.

In addition, the foundation is welcoming two new program officers effective January 13: Jan Delatorre has joined Kresge’s Health team and Demetrius Starling has joined the Human Services team.

Two Investments staff have also been promoted. Effective January 1, Emily Bertsche is managing director investments, and Chris Chegash is an investment director.

Supporting foundation operations, Sarah Traxler has been promoted to director of the Executive Office. Nyree Hill has been promoted to the role of senior grants management assistant, and Craig Fields has been promoted to controller. In addition, Heather Hacker has been promoted to director of human resources.
