Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts Inc.

This grant will support predevelopment costs for expanding the Music Hall Center for Performing Arts (Music Hall) as an iconic cultural gateway to the historic Paradise Valley business and entertainment district in the former Black Bottom neighborhood. The project is a collaboration with the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan to double Music Hall performance space and musical education space and, through its architectural redesign, create an iconic entrance to honor the history of the former Black Bottom residential area that was raised for urban renewal in 1959 to establish the I-375 freeway.
