The White House Initiative on HBCUs, a program of the U.S. Department of Education, advises the President and Secretary of Education on ways to strengthen the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This grant will enable leaders of HBCUs, public officials, and private sector partners to participate in The White House Initiative on HBCUs, the only national gathering focused on strengthening the capacity of HBCUs to deliver on their quality educational mission and increase student success. The White House Initiative on HBCUs convenes a network that represents less than 3 percent of U.S. colleges and universities but enrolls 11 percent of all African American college students.
