The Institute on Metropolitan Opportunity at the University of Minnesota investigates the ways that laws, policies and practices affect development patterns in U.S. metropolitan regions, with a focus on the growing social and economic disparities within these areas. This grant enables the institute to host a National Summit for Civil Rights, codevelop a next-generation civil rights strategy, and build on its field-leading research to influence policy makers and to create better opportunities for people with low income in America’s cities.
