The university delivers student-centered undergraduate and graduate education in an urban context, and is home to the Detroit Collaborative Design Center, a community outreach program of the School of Architecture. This grant, part of the Kresge Innovative Projects: Detroit initiative, supports planning for the activation of open spaces in the Fitzgerald neighborhood between University of Detroit Mercy and Marygrove College, often known as the “College Core.” The planning effort is led by the Detroit Collaborative Design Center.
