The Heat and Warmth, or THAW, Fund is an independent agency that provides low-income individuals and families in Michigan with emergency energy assistance. This joint grant from our Detroit and Human Services teams enables the agency and its partners to establish the Michigan Home Energy Solutions Initiative to help low-income consumers achieve energy self-sufficiency, decrease the need for emergency assistance and reduce the number of utility shutoffs due to delinquent payments.
