The  grassroots environmental organization influences public policy through community activism, public education, lobbying and litigation, and is the lead partner and fiscal sponsor of the Detroit Outdoors, which has convened supporters to reopen Scout Hollow Campgrounds in Detroit’s Rouge Park. This grant supports the hiring of a program director and the recruitment of three interns and 30 volunteers, which will support trail restoration, conservation projects, gear management, community outreach and program development and overnight camping events.
