This two-year project support grant advances River Network’s efforts to strengthen community-based participatory research (CBPR) strategies and community leadership to advance climate resilience and water equity initiatives in underserved communities experiencing repeated flooding. Building on the previous work of the Urban Flooding and Equity Learning Cohort, a partnership between River Network and Groundwork USA, this grant supports River Network’s aim to catalyze civic engagement and action at the intersection of water, equity and climate change. This work aligns with the Environment Team’s Climate Resilient and Equitable Water Systems (CREWS) Initiative strategy focused on building equitable urban leadership, with an intentional focus on community-based water organizations and leaders.
