This grant will support a partnership between the Public Religion Research Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to conducting independent research at the intersection of religion, culture, and public policy and The Atlantic, one of the nation’s most venerable and important national policy and politics news magazines. Their partnership will produce a series of polls that will illuminate American attitudes on four core areas that are important to a healthy democracy: 1) voter access and participation; 2) civic activism and engagement; 3) commitments to a pluralistic society; and 4) the role of an independent media.
