This 2-year grant supports the Urban Systems Lab (USL), an innovative interdisciplinary lab housed at The New School, to provide analysis and visualized results of how planned green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) interventions have or have not contributed to building climate resilience in urban, low-income communities experiencing climate-driven flooding. This work aligns with the Environment Team’s Climate Resilience and Equitable Water Systems (CREWS) Initiative focused on place-based innovation, specifically using climate science to help advance GSI as an adaptation solution for cities experiencing urban flooding exacerbated by climate change and structural inequities.
