The National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC Foundation) was established to help mobilize philanthropic and private-sector resources to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) critical health protection work. This project support grant will allow for an assessment of the capacity of local public health departments (LHDs) and community partnerships to respond to the health impacts of climate change, with a focus on health equity. Further, support will allow the CDC Foundation to convene an expert stakeholder group and produce an analysis of the capacity, gaps and needs of LHDs in more than 20 climate-vulnerable communities.
