We are a private, national foundation that works to expand opportunities in America’s cities through grantmaking and social investing in arts and culture, education, environment, health, human services and community development in Detroit.
The National College Access Network (NCAN) develops program and evaluation models, disseminates best practices, and offers wide-ranging services to member organizations, including community-based college-access programs, statewide college-access networks, and postsecondary education institutions in 45 states. This two-year grant will enable NCAN to manage a national competition for grants to 22 large cities to coordinate FAFSA completion efforts. Winners will be awarded up to $55,000 each to support the planning and execution of a city-wide, cross-sector FAFSA completion effort. Three monetary prizes will be awarded in 2017 to the cities that demonstrate the highest percentage point growth in FAFSA completion, the highest FAFSA completion rate, and the most innovative FAFSA completion strategy and/or college partnership.
