We are a private, national foundation that works to expand opportunities in America’s cities through grantmaking and social investing in arts and culture, education, environment, health, human services and community development in Detroit.
For more than 20 years, Healthy Gulf has played an important advocacy role in New Orleans and throughout the Gulf Coast on issues important to the health of the region’s residents in low-income communities, as well as to the health of the Gulf of Mexico. This project support grant will allow Healthy Gulf to develop a strategic planning and leadership transition proposal to advance its work to center diversity, equity, inclusion and justice (DEIJ). Healthy Gulf has also committed to further diversify the organization’s board and staff to embed equity more deeply in its programmatic work. It anticipates that by 2025, it will have a board and staff that reflects the demographics of the communities it serves.
