We are a private, national foundation that works to expand opportunities in America’s cities through grantmaking and social investing in arts and culture, education, environment, health, human services and community development in Detroit.
The nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization uses a vast network of 202 food banks and 60,000 local charitable agencies to collect and distribute food to 40 million people each year. This grant will enable Feeding America to conduct a landscape study to document and disseminate promising approaches from local communities addressing college hunger. The study will inform the development of new strategic partnerships and interventions. To maximize the research’s influence, the grant will also support Feeding America to build partnerships with leading higher education organizations and to host at least three convenings on college food insecurity.
