The small, private, historically black, liberal arts institution is rebounding from the costly damage and disruption caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. This grant supports construction of the LEED-Gold Gentilly Center for Health Disparities and Disease Prevention, which seeks to promote quality research, create student learning opportunities, and broaden community-health outreach.
