The state’s oldest public-policy research organization provides policymakers with unbiased, independent information on significant issues related to state and local government organization and finance. Grant money enables the council to assist the newly established Michigan Office of Great Start in researching the system required to provide coordinated, high-quality early childhood services and improve outcomes for Michigan children from birth to grade three.
