The nonprofit organization helps low-income, minority, grassroots groups in rural areas address the disproportionate burden of pollution and environmental health hazards. A three-year grant supports two related efforts in California’s San Joaquin Valley: a project to help residents shape land-use decisions in their communities and an effort to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions from dairy farms.
