The center focuses on community organizing and advocacy in California’s “Inland Empire,” a region east of Los Angeles that is affected by pollution from heavy freight traffic, transshipping facilities and warehousing areas. Grant funding enables the center to create policies aimed at reducing toxic diesel emissions, mitigating pollution-related health risks and improving air quality in two low-income communities.
