The center offers culturally and linguistically competent health services to low-income, underserved Asians and other diverse populations living in southwest Houston, home to the nation’s fourth-largest Asian community. This two-year grant from the Health Clinic Opportunity Fund supports the expansion of primary-care services to meet the rapidly growing demand for health care. The fund is designed to bridge, build and sustain the operations of high-performing community health centers serving diverse and vulnerable populations. It targeted free clinics, public health clinics and designated federally qualified health center look-alikes to meet both the immediate and long-term health needs of their constituents. Priority was given to projects that leverage existing resources, create more effective operating systems, improve efficiencies and expand and maintain access to health services for vulnerable populations.
