The Kresge Foundation partnered with the Disability & Philanthropy Forum to host Disability Justice: Unlearning Ableism. The virtual webinar featured three panelists with rich lived-experience and professional expertise within the disabled community including Dessa Cosma (she/her) of Detroit Disability Power, Marq Mitchell (he/him) of Chainless Change, and Mordecai Cohen Ettinger (they/them) of Sins Invalid. Throughout the session, the panelists framed ableism as an institution and discussed its connection to white supremacy, misogyny, classism, and homophobia. Panelists and attendees also offered strategies for weaving anti-ableism into both personal and professional life with specific focus on the philanthropic/nonprofit sector.
