Alejandra Hernandez (she/her/hers) is a program officer for The Kresge Foundation’s Environment Program, which supports cities in combating and adapting to climate change while advancing racial and economic equity. She plays a leading role in the foundation’s Climate Change, Health, and Equity (CCHE) initiative, helping to shape its vision and implementation to address the intersecting impacts of climate change on human health. Alejandra joined the foundation in 2021.
She serves on the steering committee of The Funders Network GREEN working group, contributing to collaborative learning and philanthropic action focused on advancing sustainable and equitable communities.
Before joining Kresge, Alejandra worked as a conservation policy associate at the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute and held several roles with the John Bartowski Department of Environmental Health at the Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Alejandra holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dallas and a master’s degree from the Yale School of the Environment.
