Building a More Robust Human Services Field

Through convenings and testing policy solutions, we partner with the field to share mutual lessons learned about practice-informed and evidence-based practices that can strengthen the sector and lead to lasting changes for families in cities around the country.

In collaboration with our place-based ecosystems, NextGen, and other partners, we seek to strengthen outcomes-based, person-centered practices that advance racial equity and social and economic mobility within the human services field and adjacent sectors.

This takes a number of forms, including hosting convenings about specific practice and policy issues; working with our partners to design forums in which we can share best practices to influence systems and expand opportunity in America’s cities; and advancing more constructive narratives about the human services field.

We also support technical assistance and learning communities focused on issues closely aligned with our policy priorities. Current and past topics include using data to achieve more equitable outcomes; advancing policies and practices to emphasize the importance of fathers in two-generation approaches; and strengthening asset-building practices.
