The university’s School of Education and Merrill Palmer Institute for Child and Family Development implements the Woodward Corridor Early Childhood Consortium, a partnership of directors, administrators, staff, teachers and families from 23 early childhood centers located in downtown and Midtown Detroit. This grant supports the continuation of the consortium to demonstrate a neighborhood-defined approach to integrating disparate early childhood units into a single collaborative that supports whole child excellence through directed networking, center-need coaching, professional development and community partner-provider connections.
