Katie W. Byerly is a health philanthropy fellow at The Kresge Foundation. She supports the Health Program’s grantmaking strategies, working to use cross-disciplinary and community-engaged approaches to promote health equity. She joined the foundation in 2016.
Previously she served as managing director of CounterTobacco.org, developing tools and resources for federal, state, and local public health practitioners working to counteract the impact of tobacco product sales and marketing. She has also held several positions in public health research and practice.
A native of North Carolina, she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
