Cynthia K. Powors serves as facilities director for The Kresge Foundation. She joined the Kresge in 1995 and worked as its office manager for 12 years before taking on her current role.
Cynthia plans and directs core building services and operations, which include maintenance, space utilization and development, procurement and contract management, and sustainability efforts.
The foundation’s Brooks Farm headquarters in Troy, Mich., includes a building that received a Platinum designation from the U.S.Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system. Cynthia seeks out approaches that promote conservation and technologies that increase efficiency with the goal of conserving natural resources and reducing consumption and waste production.
“We want to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, facilities and services, and accelerate the adoption of more sustainable practices and solutions to everyday issues,” she says.
Cynthia earned a bachelor of arts in business administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. She represents Kresge at the Troy Chamber of Commerce and in USGBC activities.
