Detroit College Access Network This joint Education/Detroit grant will support the Detroit College Access Network’s (DCAN) operations for the next three years. DCAN coordinates and supports the city’s student-facing college access nonprofits and high schools (public, charter and private) serving Detroit high school students. Over the course of the grant, DCAN aims to increase: 1) student access to high quality college counseling; 2) the percentage of Detroit high school graduates who enroll in postsecondary institutions; and 3) increase the percentage of high school students who are academically prepared for college. In addition, DCAN plans to update and evaluate its current strategic plan in the wake of the pandemic and the arrival of a new leadership team. Ultimately, DCAN hopes to restore the pre-pandemic momentum it had established for Detroit student postsecondary enrollment and success.
