Working with partners, we identify opportunities for capitalizing on the strengths of the city’s major hospitals and medical research centers. The concentration of facilities and talent suggest opportunities to innovate across areas such as access for children, medical homes, safety-net clinics and the abatement of environmental hazards in homes.

Home to institutions like the Detroit Medical Center and the Henry Ford Health System, Detroit may also be positioned to expand its role as a center of health education.

We continue to develop our activities in this area in consultation with stakeholders and experts.

Our Funding Process

Our Detroit team members are deeply engaged in the community and make every effort to be aware of emerging and ongoing initiatives with potential to accomplish the community’s goals.

The Detroit Program periodically offers open grant opportunities to organizations within a certain sector.
