The nonprofit lender and real estate consultant works to transform low-income and disinvested communities in the Midwest using the tools of community development finance, bolstered by data and place-based research. As most early childhood care and education providers in Detroit do not have access to financing for real estate and other asset-based projects that would improve the physical learning environment for the children, this grant supports short-term consulting and technical assistance to nonprofit borrowers in early education. Funding will help build the capacity of local early education providers as part of IFF’s financing work in the community.
